Why I Still Use A Ten-Year Old Sony Ericsson P900
Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2:00AM Great article by Charlie over at Cult of Mac- "Take one look at my cellphone and you’ll either laugh at me, pity me or envy me. It’s a Sony Ericsson P900, a brick of a smartphone introduced in 2003, and I got it when my P800 was stolen from my bag in London’s Soho (at that time, Orange in the UK gave you free insurance for your phones — go figure).

And after a few years of struggling with various dumbphones and the execrable Samsung Behold, I’m back to the P900 and I love it. Why? Because it was designed to be used like the iPhone, not crippled by carriers like everything else these days."

The UI on the P900 was very Palm like. Must have a play with my P800, may also have a P900/P910 somewhere! Have to hunt around in the home office.
Seriously, just no! UIQ was unpleasant at the time and if there's anything that the last ten years have taught us its that the PXXX range was awful at everything you'd want to do with a smartphone.
I know this guy lists out a fairly limited use scenario, but really, given the choice between using a UIQ phone for any purpose or taking its stylus and poking myself repeatedly in the eye with it... I'd be seriously considering the eye-poking option!!!
