Tonido

I asked how much you trust the major Cloud services recently and it caused quite a discussion. I don't personally have the time or the knowledge to set up my own hardware server solution so have been looking for software that can be installed on my Mac and which would then let me access the files and data from a smartphone and tablet etc.

One that popped up was Tonido which looks quite good, but I am open to ideas on alternatives. I believe that a decent solution that lets people view their private data anywhere without using an onloine Cloud service would suit the majority who are concerned about privacy and security.

It warrants some further investigation. On an earlier browse of their site, I saw references to file limits which were enlarged depending upon how much more than 'Free' you paid which I will want to clarify before trying this suite out.

I had already been there a few months ago before the cloud craziness and it does have potential. Maybe some could consider this service, instead of public ones. It takes some setup, but looks not too difficult.
