Another question from Jah today. What is the absolute maximum you are willing to pay for an app for your Smartphone and if you have a tablet, how more would you pay for a tablet app? My limit in £10.00 for either Smartphone and tablet.
I have categories: 1. Most games - up to £3, unless its a special title. They're mass selling. 2. Most other apps - up to £10, in general I don't believe they sell as well, and may be particularly "key to what I want to do" - thinking things like finance apps, calendar, etc. 3. Exceptions - no real limit, but I'd say I'd seriously question anything over £50. I've only one in this category so far - GPS apps. Having tomtom etc, available "offline" while I'm abroad makes finding hotels from train stations etc, a lot less hassle.
As I recall, In think I paid around AU$15 for Documents to Go on my wife's iPad.
And I did pay around the same for an Outlook plugin to sync PIM data to my Android phone via Google. Not quite a phone app, but heavily related.
While most apps are quite inexpensive, there is the occasional specialist application, like GPS, which attract a higher price tag. Although, when the head over AU$30, you want to make sure that it's worthwhile, and comes with a trial.
I don't have a fixed limit — it depends on the benefit of the application. I was happy to pay for TomTom, for example, since it's hugely useful to me; more so than the CoPilot I bought at a reduced (and, in any case, lower) price.

AUD$10
In the past that would have been around 4 pounds but it is almost 7 these days... :-/

Games I'll spend 5 pounds but typically spending 2 pounds.
Other apps are similar in price however for a GPS app or something similar I could spend £15-£25.
I got Co-Pilot Europe when it was on offer. I forget how much it was but it was somewhere between £10 - £20. Games, I'd spend up to £4.

Under a couple of pounds, but I've bought CoPilot (when on sale - awful!), Navigon & LogMeIn Ignition for >£10 which are both invaluable.
$20 Cdn for either. But if I really needed something, or convinced myself of that, I would go a bit higher to about $30.
I don't have a limit if the app is worth it. Some are.
