Hmm. Fallout 3, Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas, Mass Effect 2 and 3, Red Dead Redemption are some of the games I own on my XBox and I think they're all considered 1st person shooters. Oh and military games like HAWX and Apache Assault. But definitely not multi-player war games, mainly due to my atrocious lack of skill in them. :-(
My preference seems to be for Puzzle/Adventure style (the Myst franchise was a big favourite).
Although I also like RPGs, although I have never seen a computer come close to the Paper/Books/Dice/Figurines option that I used to enjoy playing and running.
I dislike "real-time" combat themes, probably for the same reason as Donald.
FPS on PC and PS3. I play Unreal Tournament III against some friends online once a week; I've been doing that (with previous Unreal games) since around 1999.
FPS and puzzle games on mobile.
I used to be into RTS on PC but not so much these days, mainly because of a lack of quality titles (last time I looked at least).
My favourites are first person RPGs. I'm an old DungeonMaster addict and love Legend of Grimrock. Unfortunately they take a lot of time that I don't have right now. I also like puzzle games. My iPad and iPhone are full of them.
Well, I used to be a strategy game lover, but as the years go by with the work load constantly heavy and all the stress, I now tend to play games that don't require that much of thinking. I do play here and there, but when levels get more difficult, I just drop it and move on. Not my style, but I'm tired of having to think a lot at work. So, I now play speed games, games that need fast thinking and reflexes, like racing, shooting...

Enjoying dead space at moment, like hidden object/puzzle games from Big Fish
