Question: battery life?

Battery life is often stated by users as a key feature of Smartphones.  The Samsung SIII has a larger battery than the SII and has a more efficient processor.  But this is as the cost of having a larger device.  What do you prefer, smaller device and average battery life or larger device and better battery life? Thanks to Jah for the question.

I tend to use two phones, one for personal use and one for business. I prefer a smaller phone for business use as it is easier to store/retrieve etc from a pocket/pouch/etc. But I use my Note for personal use a lot and now I never get a whole day with one charge. So for larger devices I expect even better/larger batteries.

Give me a larger device with better battery life any day, if that's the reason it is larger. I would have preferred my phone to have been slightly fatter with a much better battery life, rather than anorexic with little energy to last a day of hard work. Often a device is larger to accommodate a bigger screen and nothing else.

As usual I'm torn. If my phone is any larger, I won't be able to use it with one hand. Even now it's a stretch, literally. Extra thickness is just as bad. Since I can charge most places, I'm not overly concerned about battery as long as it last at least 12 hours of my normal usage.

Battery life isn't something that I consider when buying devices. So long as I can get through a working day on a charge I'm happy. Generally I plug my phone in to charge wherever possible, at my desk, in the car or on the train.

I am impressed that the Note can run two full days away from the mains, but I only know this because I made a special effort to measure its maximum possible autonomy.

The question I always ask myself is am I prepared to give up functionality in return for greater run time. To which the answer has always been no...

larger battery and improved battery life.

If motorola can do it with the razr maxx and barely make it thicker than the rest, it is time the rest realized they can do massive battery with reasonable phone size.
