Open webOS 1.0 and the Galaxy Nexus

It's not quite over Palm fans. HP has released Open webOS 1.0 and it has made its way to the Galaxy Nexus already, albeit with some tweaks still required. Sadly, I can't see this being anything more than a hobby for a select group of people. Thanks to Bugblatter.

From Trusted Reviews- Hewlett Packard has released the first edition of its Open webOS. Version 1.0 can be run on supported smartphones, tablets and touchscreen computers.

WebOS architect Steve Winston can be seen in this YouTube video showing the system working on an HP TouchSmart PC.

“We have completed our initial roadmap and are releasing Open webOS 1.0 on schedule, as promised,” says the project’s blog. “Our combined efforts with the community and hard work have paid off, and we are now ready to move on to the next phase together. With this release we have affirmed our commitment to meet our goals and create a vibrant open source community.”
