Google Play hits 25 billion downloads

Google has announced that 25 billion Android apps and games have been downloaded from Google Play. A huge number and to celebrate a new sale is up offering some decent discounts.

Whether you’re looking for directions, checking email or sharing a picture with friends, apps are now an indispensable part of life. And if you’re using Android, it all starts with Google Play, home to 675,000 apps and games. That’s a lot of choice. We’ve now crossed 25 billion downloads from Google Play, and to celebrate we’re offering some great discounts for the next five days.

And they have 25 deals on the Play Shop at 25p each - some pretty decent ones in there.

I missed the first two days of this offer because I was too busy to get online. But at least I managed to score a few good apps at this price.
The $25 credit with my new Nexus 7 is proving quite handy for these.
