Genius Scan+ - PDF Scanner: the most useful app ever?

I have been using Genius Scan+ - PDF Scanner for the past month on my iPhone and it has changed the way I use my phone, and so much more, considerably.

How many times have you wasted hours looking for car insurance documents, bills or certificates with information on that you need? For those of you who have neatly stacked and organised pieces of paper in filing cabinets, the above question will not apply. For those of you, like me, who cannot quite bring themselves to keep stacks of paper in perfect order because of laziness, lack of time or simply because you can't work like that, you will appreciate a solution like Genius Scan.

I started to scan some useful documents and then did the same with letters that arrived in the post until I had a selection of documents available on my iPhone whenever I needed them. Car Insurance, my latest tax return (every page), passport details etc. etc. It is all in there and the difference it has made already has been surprising and very positive.

Simple stuff like the kit list of stuff my daughter needed to take on a school trip save us loads of time and having all of the information about the trip in a simple scan meant we knew when to drop her off, where to contact her etc. etc. It sounds over the top and OCD-ish, but it really isn't. It is an incredibly simple way of dealing with a complex problem, one that wastes hours of time every single year.

I am not backing up the app over iCloud and am relying on it being backed up to iTunes via the wire. It may not be completely secure, but I feel free enough to store whatever I want no matter how sensitive it is. As to how secure it all is on my Mac is another matter, but the overall quality of the scans and the simplistic way it works have changed many aspects of my organisation and save a huge amount of time. Every mobile platform has solutions like this available and I am curious as to how many of you scan your important documents for safe keeping?

Clever.

I've photographed all my important documents (including driving licence, front and back of credit cards) and have them stored in an encrypted bundle on my computer. I also take photos of things when I need to archive them - not the same as a scanner without some work in setting up decent lighting and getting the camera square to the page, but spot on for what I need.

Thanks. Given my paranoia, and reliance on encrypted sparsebundles, TrueCrypt partitions and the like, CardRui's statement "But you shouldn't save secret images," coupled with the lack of information about encryption of the database and so on, makes me think it's probably not for me for anything I might care about :)
