A handful of Passbook

Apple has high hopes for Passbook and the potential is clear, but in the UK at least it is getting off to a very slow start. The screenshot below shows 'all' of the Passbook currently available and 5 really is not good at all.

I guess the Starbucks one could be useful, but I drink Costa Coffee so until that comes along, Passbook will remain one of those apps that sits in a folder somewhere.

I am using the Starbucks app just to see how passbook works. It does exactly what it says it does. I have 4 stores setup and it knows when I am at those locations. I do prefer Costa though.

However having PassBook active does impact battery slightly. My view on passbook is that it is simply a reminder with location awareness, all dressed up in pretty software. And works very well.

Here are other practical uses of Passbook for UK. If you're in London, there is Oyster Pass for Passbook (oypass.com) or you can find other passes on our Passforce platform passforce.com
